Heya! MASSIVE blog posts will come AFTER I finish my HUGE exams. HOWEVER, I still have one more exam in 5 days... so I took today off from studying to do a quick re-organisation of bookish goodness. I've refined my TBR, mainly because I will have 20 free days of nothingness before my schoolies/vacation to NYC. Issue? I can't bring any paper/hardbacks! Just my kindle. I did a sneaky photoshoot while reorganising: My Twilight collection so far... I just need a couple more books to complete it! Read all of these in 19 days? 31 books in 19 days... START WITH REREADING TWILIGHT I'll give a proper update soon! Thank you for all who continue to read my blog <3 Now to update my Kindle TBR... the other one

Sleepover

Hello, blog readers! More book memes will be coming to you, but I thought I'd first update you. I'm still as obsessed to Twilight as ever. S much so that at the sleepover at best friend's house had an entire hour dedicated towards Tashapolis' exploration of the movie set. At about 3:30 yesterday, my friend picked me up and we went to her formal (prom) dress fitting-- very glamorous. I want to buy all the bridal dresses. Then we went to Maccas (McDonalds), thank god. I needed some unhealthy food. We headed home and binged watched 7 hours (we were up til 2am) watching the Secret Life of the American Teenager ('Secret Life'). So much safe sex education. So much. We loved every second! Accompanied by lots, and lots, of tea. And rocky road. And chocolate. A jam toast. Unfortunately, the biggest exams I have to take, are within a WEEK. The beginning English Modules, to start. Every day from now on, I have to go to the library for study groups. I have...

Carrier of the Mark Review

Image
Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon 3/5 stars. Honestly, this started as a 4/5 but slowly got worse . I'm sorry that happened, I didn't see it coming but it did :/ Why is this a 3/5 stars? 1. If you kept up to date with my status updates, you'd know this was super instalove centric. And I know, this is a typical thing reviewers complain about in YA Romances… but this one was like the biggest sinner of them all. New, cliche outcast girl moves to a new city. She catches a glimpse of the bad boy/super hot guy everybody adores. And you know what? Who can blame her?  However, she doesn't speak to him for a month , but asks around through her friends/classmates about him. She is actively aware of how sappy her crush is, as seen through her reaction to her new BFF, Caitlin, and her crush/boyfriend/ex Killian or some Irish name (that was a positive: the author kept the background setting very authentic to the culture, which I largely apprec...

Mailbox Monday #2

Image
G'day, my fellow dudes. Today we're going to hit it off with  Mailbox Monday . The last time I made this, it was a week before my birthday. Now it's a month later, and boy, did I get a lot of books. Over 20, in fact.  I spent my birthday evening showing my best friend all the books I got, and why I'm excited to read them.  Already I've read a few:  Falling Under Everneath and several trashy romances on my new Kindle!!! Hopefully I'll make a post in the sometime future, showcasing all the books I received. I got so many, I've run out of space on my shelves. They're now sitting in small piles around my bed (secretly I'm making a book throne).  Other books I received were: Of Poseidon (Paperback)- Anna Bank The Goddess Test (Paperback)- Aimee Carter See Me (Paperback)- Wendy Higgins Landline (Paperback)- Rainbow Rowell Never Always Sometimes (Paperback)- Adi Alsaid Adulthood is a Myth: A Sarah s Scribbles...

Cover Characteristic #2

Image
The final book meme for this week is inspired by  Sugar and Snark.   post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite cover’s with that characteristic The theme I'm picking is:  Couples (preferably embracing) 5: This Shattered World I just love how they're reaching for each other. Although, I hated that his shirt was undone. It was embarrassing to read in public. 4: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer I adore all three covers in the trilogy, as it shows how beautifully complex Mara and Noah's relationship is. Some could argue the guy in the cover is actually Jules, dragging her down. I like to see it as Noah and Mara, clinging onto each other as they drown in their love. 3: Silence Need I say anything else??? The Hush, Hush Saga has such gorgeous covers! Plus... it's Patch. Immediate win. 2: Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side I love the story. A lot. You guys would know, as I mention in all my reviews . Oops. Anywyas: the embrace is sweet,...

Friday 56 #2

Image
TGIF, bookwroms! Today's post is inspired by  Freda's Voice. From Girlxoxo: Grab a book, any book, and turn to page 56. Find a sentence that grabs you and post it either on your blog or on Instagram tagged with #Friday56.  This week I've chosen Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 2 by S.Meyer This is a little different than other Friday's, as this is a graphic novel. But I just found this quote beautiful:  "But as time went on, I began to see the monster in my eyes. I couldn't escape the debt of so much human life taken, no matter how justified. And I went back to Carlisle and Esme. They welcomed me back like the prodigal. It was more than I deserved." -Twilight, p. 343 in the normal copy. I'm actually dying to reread the Twilight Saga. I don't know what I'm waiting for... I have to study for my big exams (which I'm barely doing). I will take Sunday off and try to read as many as I can. After I reread them, I'll r...

When I First Saw You? #2

Image
Thursday's Book Meme is inspired by  Sailing Through Books. Exert from Girlxoxo:  link up to your post on first impressions of a book cover in the form of a made-up synopsis … so basically judging a book by it’s cover yes. I reviewed this a couple of months ago, you can find it here . When I first saw this book, I thought it was going to be some piece of trash that fills my guilty hunger for paranormal romance. I thought it would be a shallow love story about some Mary Sue girl falling for her vampire. To relate to the cover, I thought there would be some epiphany where they waltz together, like maybe she decides to be a vampire herself. Or they fell in love. Who knows. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it; but just a forewarning: It may sound cliche, but hot damn. It's one of the sexiest teen romances with such an interesting and well-developed world, you'd be a fool not to read it! (only if you're a fan of the genre, of course).  ...

Library Loot #2

Image
Welcome to Wednesday's Book Meme, inspired by  the Captive Reader , and  Silly Litter Mischief . As I said in my last post , I sadly had to return some library books that I didn't get to even start. Those were Cinder, and the Glittering Court. However, a beauty that I've recently snagged is: Summer Days & Summer Nights (Twelve Stories) by Stephanie Perkins (Editor), Leigh Bardugo, Francesca Lia Block, Libba Bray, Cassandra Clare, Brandy Colbert, Tim Federle, Lev Grossman, Nina LaCour, Veronica Roth , Jon Skovron, Jennifer E. Smith. I can't wait to read this! I'm not really in a contemporary kind of mood right now-- I'm all about the paranormal romance, especially when it has to do with the underworld. But the selling point of this book wasn't the plot-- it was the authors . Steph, Cassie and Roth all in one??? HELL YEAH! I'm going to the library today, all day, to study. Wish me luck. Hopefully I won't get too distracted a...

Image
This day's meme is inspired by  Rainy Day Ramblings. Do you have any tips on how to save some money when buying books? Tell us about it! Question from  Fiction Book Review. I'm going to answer this suited best for the Australian audience, who prefer paperbacks like myself. I'm sure your country has to equivalent websites I'm about to suggest.  If you didn't see my master post , check it out as it has a large list that is helpful all year round. Everneath Review

Image
Everneath by Brodi Ashton 4/5 stars Would've been 5/5 if I hadn't rooted for the wrong guy in the love triangle, damnit. This book all together was a well rounded story! It was captivating and original. There's not much to complain about. However, my only issue is that I think Nikki would be better with Cole. I thought from the beginning that Jack was the boring, safe option. And poor Cole, he can't help how he feels! There's literally destiny binding them together-- and for some reason- that being, that she has ties with a boy who she barely dated for 3 months (only!)- she rejects Cole! Even though choosing him is the far superior and more interesting option! Nikki plays the victim card a lot. But there's literally a flashback she has, where Cole says for the billionth time "Are you sure?" and warns her that there "is not going back" after this, aND SHE AGREEED. Yeah maybe there was some slight emotional manipu...

Falling Under Review

Image
Falling Under by Gwen Hayes 3/5 stars It would've been higher if it didn't cause me to go into a reading slump. The story line is so intriguing and I love the idea so much. I just which there was more depth to it, you know?  It was basically the first 20 mins of a movie. It was a lot of fun, I love being introduced to new worlds and characters, but not a lot actually happened. I loved the psychic. She (/he?) was such a star and made the book more... Dimensional? The ending was pretty disappointing. Maybe I'm just used to reading lengthier pieces now, but the ending was practically an introduction to the actual drama taking place. The mother, as well as all the other characters, was written brilliantly. They're fairly cliche if you think about it, but the author manages to tweak them just enough to make them her own. The haunting relationship between Haden and Theia is enchanting. My favourite moment between them? ...

Cover Characteristic #1

Image
The final book meme for this week is inspired by Sugar and Snark.   post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite cover’s with that characteristic  This week has been really fun to make! If I had the time, I'd love to make posts like this everyday. Maybe when I'm less busy I will. I haven't decided if I'll adapt any of these memes as regular features, but let me know in the comments if you had a favourite! Check out my poll (in the siderbar, to the right side of this post) and vote for your favourites! The theme I'm picking is: Ball Gowns (or pretty outfits you'd like to wear!) At number 5: Matched The green dress seems absolutely gorgeous to wear at your match-making ball. Nothing much else to say; green isn't my colour, and there's a reason it isn't #1. Number 4: These Broken Stars Lilac's the most spoilt princess in the galaxy, with a stunning dress that immediately takes the breath out of Tarver, super spunky soldier ...
